Hypocrite Jennifer Siebel Newsom Claims Trump Calling Norah O’Donnell ‘Disgraceful’ Is ‘Misogyny’

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been making his most cringe attempts at social media relevance for months now by posting provocative memes and commentary that may or may not come back to haunt him when he inevitably announces his 2028 presidential run.

But his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, is also giving critics plenty of fodder with her own bizarre hot takes and incendiary rhetoric. Internet sleuths have already resurfaced wild clips of the self-described “first partner” talking parenting, DEI, and accidentally killing her sister as a child in the most bizarre terms. Fortunately for us, the embarrassing trip down memory lane hasn’t stopped  Siebel Newsom from continuing to spout her unfiltered opinions.

In the wake of the latest attempt on President Donald Trump’s life at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night, the so-called “thought leader on gender equality” took to X to call out the president for his 60 Minutes interview with CBS News correspondent Norah O’Donnell.

On Tuesday’s show, Megyn was joined by Stu Burguiere, host of Predictable and Stu and Dave Do America, to discuss Siebel Newsom’s absurd and hypocritical take.

The 60 Minutes Interview

In the aftermath of the shooting outside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that, according to the alleged gunman’s ‘manifesto,’ was targeting Trump and top members of his administration in attendance, the president sat down with O’Donnell to discuss the incident.

O’Donnell noted portions of the document that she said “reference[d] a motive” and read a specific sentence from the so-called manifesto: “I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.”

“Well, I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you’re horrible people. Horrible people,” Trump answered. “Yeah, he did write that. I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody.”

“Do you think he was referring to you?” O’Donnell asked incredulously.

“I’m not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all… stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated. Your friends on the other side of the plate are the ones that were involved with, let’s say, Epstein or other things,” the president continued. “But I said to myself, ‘You know, I’ll do this interview and they’ll probably…’ I read the manifesto. You know, he’s a sick person. But you should be ashamed of yourself reading that because I’m not any of those things.”

O’Donnell tried to argue that she was quoting the alleged gunman’s words, but Trump continued to call her “disgraceful.”

The Tweet Storm

Monday afternoon, Siebel Newsom took to X to weigh in that portion of the interview with a three-part missive that started with her “shocked” reaction to watching Trump “disrespect” a female journalist:

“My family and I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Donald Trump and Norah O’Donnell last night, and we were shocked. Seeing a president speak to a woman journalist with that level of contempt — and a clear allergy to facts — is disturbing, though at this point not unexpected given his pattern of behavior.

But that is the problem. Because when that level of disrespect from the highest office in the country repeats itself, it starts to trickle down into our culture and define what power looks like, shaping how boys and plenty of men see women and girls and what they come to accept as normal behavior.”

As explained in part two, the president apparently fed into a “digital ecosystem that rewards outrage and misinformation” and normalized “misogyny” when he took issue with O’Donnell’s question:

“Add in rhetoric rooted in political division, amplified by a digital ecosystem that rewards outrage and misinformation, and this cultural norm of hate, othering, and misogyny becomes pervasive. Behavior that should be challenged gets normalized; what should raise concern is amplified and cheered on.

It’s no wonder we have a culture that normalizes dominance and aggression toward women and girls, which not only silences them but also leads to internalized misogyny in others.”

Finally, Siebel Newsom patted O’Donnell and all those who “speak truth to power” on the proverbial back:

“Thank you to Norah, all of the female journalists, and frankly to all of YOU who continue to be brave and speak truth to power.

This culture of misogyny is on all of us, and it has to end.”

The Hypocrisy

Megyn was unmoved by Siebel Newsom’s claim and said there is only one conclusion to draw from it: She herself is the sexist.

“She wants women to have special privileges when they interview the president of the United States. He is not allowed to call them a disgrace or to take issue with their questions,” Megyn noted. “He’s only allowed to do that, in Jennifer Newsom’s view, if he’s being interviewed by a man which, Jennifer, I have news to you, makes you the sexist, not Donald Trump. The nerve of this lady.”

If the “first partner” did, in fact, want to criticize Trump for his treatment of women who cover him, Megyn said she should have found a better example. “Trust me, if you want to go after Trump on the woman thing, do your homework. There are some quotes out there. That’s not one of them,” she said. “‘You’re a disgrace’? ‘That’s disgusting what you did’? That is a day ending in Y for Trump and the press, male or female.”

“What did he say that you find so misogynistic? Truly,” Megyn wondered. “He didn’t like her question. He didn’t engage in a gendered attack.”

Speaking of “gendered attacks,” Siebel Newsom’s husband, in all his cringe social media glory, has been engaged in plenty of them lately. “Her husband, who has been engaging in like these Twitter attempts to sound like Trump, but, in the process, is actually being really offensive,” Megyn explained. “He has been tweeting out suggesting Benny Johnson and Jesse Watters are gay and on Grindr. Does that diminish the culture? He called Dana Perino, ‘Dana ding dong Perino’… He called Mike Johnson, ‘Mike always on his knees Johnson’… He said Lara Trump’s show is a ‘total disaster,’ ‘no personality,’ ‘no talent,’ ‘very low energy,’ she ‘desperately needs coaching.'”

“This is her husband,” Megyn said. “So, is that contributing to the ‘misogyny’ that Jennifer Newsom has such trouble accepting?”

Burguiere called Siebel Newsom’s attack “totally inauthentic” and posited that she is not making her husband’s life any easier as he gears up for 2028. “It’s funny to watch Newsom and have to deal with his wife, who is saying lots of things that are disagreeing with this public case for office right now,” he concluded. “But what she is saying there has absolutely no value.”
