The Strudwick File: Strud Cuts a Rug, Part III

July has been a month of celebrations in the Kelly-Brunt house, and you better believe Strudwick made his presence known at every one of them.

Last week, we told you how Strud donned his chef’s hat to help prepare the meal for Megyn’s mom’s birthday festivities. This week, our four-legged friend got in on the action at Megyn son Thatcher’s birthday party.

Thatcher turned the big 1-3 with a backyard bash that featured plenty of sweet treats. Cotton candy was among the offerings, and somehow a couple of servings found their way back inside… and caked into Megyn’s brand new rug.

Here was the scene when she came into the dining room. Watch:

The incident calls to mind the time Strud ruined a different rug with a box of cherry Jello, which, we can sadly report, does not come out of certain floor coverings. Megyn learned her lesson after dealing with that Dateline-inspired scene, did some research, and discovered the magic of plastic (!) rugs that can be hosed off as needed. That feature is what saved the day when Strud treated us to a protein-palooza few months back.

Unfortunately, Megyn and her fam are now at the beach, where the rugs are not plastic and likely need to be replaced. To add insult to injury, Strud didn’t seem to be particularly remorseful when Megyn found him surveying a yet-to-be-damaged section of the flooring later that day:

Knowing Strudwick, we are going to put the emphasis on the “yet-to-be” portion of that sentence!
