Michelle Obama and Sharon Stone Trash Men Over Pregnancy and Abortion in Ridiculous New Interview

In the latest entrant to the ‘Michelle Obama Says Ridiculous Things on Her Podcast’ cannon, the former first lady and Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone had a bizarre discussion about abortion that ended with a worn out trope about men.

The Claims

On the latest episode of IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, Stone recounted a pregnancy and abortion she had in her teens. The Hollywood icon claimed a lack of sex education led to her getting pregnant young–something she didn’t even realize for months.

“[My boyfriend] didn’t have any knowledge or information that I should have some kind of birth control,” she said. “And I had no [idea]. Like when I tell you I could have been the girl who gave birth in the bathroom stall.”

Stone said her boyfriend and parents, who were also apparently clueless to the pregnancy, noticed her gaining weight and “thought it was the freshman 15, like no clue,” she alleged.

In her 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice, Stone wrote that she eventually had to travel from Pennsylvania to Ohio for an abortion and struggled to recuperate after the procedure. “I was bleeding all over the place and far worse than I should have been, but this was a secret and I had no one to tell. So I stayed in my room and bled for days. I was weak and scared and then just weak,” she wrote.

Speaking with Obama and Robinson, the 68-year-old suggested women are no better off today. “Now we don’t want to give women care, OB-GYN care, and we want to prosecute women for having a miscarriage. What kind of arcane bullshit is this? If men got pregnant, you could get an abortion from a vending machine,” she claimed.

That’s when the former first lady chimed in. “There would be the birth Olympics, you know… Men would film themselves going into labor and honoring their pain, and…there would be trophies given. You know, ‘Well done, dude;’ ‘Bob, you really, you know, you did that without an epidural,'” Obama posited.

“Maternity leave would be when you got the bonus,” Stone interjected, which Obama emphatically agreed with.

Having apparently had enough of the theorizing, Robinson tried to change the subject by asking Stone what led her to move to New York. “Craig’s like, I’ve had it with this conversation. Moving on, moving on,” Stone quipped.

“This is why we [women] don’t get help, you know,” Obama claimed. “They [men] are like, ‘Well, I’m bored with this conversation. Let’s talk about sports.'”

“I didn’t switch to sports,” Robinson retorted.

“Not yet,” Obama said.

The Fact-Check

On Friday’s show, Megyn wondered if Stone and Obama actually understand the origins of maternity leave. “You know why we have maternity leave? Because of men. Because our foremothers, who were in the workforce, went to all the men who ran corporate America and said, ‘Let’s create this thing called maternity leave,’ and the guys at first were like, ‘Hell no! You’ll never come back. You’ll just use it for a paid vacation, and then we’re never going to see you again. We all know that.’ And the women said, ‘Trust us, we will come back,’ and convinced them to create this policy that actually could work for men and for women and for their little babies, and they did it,” she explained.

“And the women who respect what our foremothers do come back and understand it’s important to continue that legacy,” Megyn continued. “It’s not the evil men who tried to shut that down or have some problem with childbearing or would make abortions available in a vending machine just because they want to get rid of babies… It’s just at every turn they perpetuate the nasty stereotypes about guys–young guys, middle-aged guys, old guys.”

Megyn’s guest, The Federalist CEO Sean Davis, was actually surprised to hear the duo talking about gender at all given how the left feels about ‘inclusive’ language. “There’s a phrase in there that kind of caught me for a second. It was when Sharon Stone said, ‘If men can get pregnant.’ Now, I have been told for several years now that women aren’t women; they’re birthing persons. But also, men can get pregnant. So, I would very much like all the trans kooks to go out there and start going crazy on Michelle Obama because she seemed to dive into this as well,” he joked.

On a more serious note, Davis noted that Stone and Obama seem to be unaware of the actual state of abortion procedures in the U.S. “I bet those two women are not aware that actually most abortions in this country now are done by pill… That people are shipping abortions effectively across state lines all over the country. We actually are in that world now,” he said.

“I find horrifying that we’re so blasé as a culture about just ending innocent human life,” Davis concluded. “But you know, men cannot get pregnant and yet we effectively have the equivalent now of ‘abortion by vending machine,’ except it’s abortion by mailbox.”
