The most anticipated moment of the preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University last September, finally came on Thursday when a recorded video interview between prosecutors and Lance Twiggs, the suspect’s roommate and alleged ‘trans,’ ‘furry’ lover, was played in court and messages said to be sent between Robinson and Twiggs in the aftermath of the murder were read into evidence.
Both the video and text messages revealed information that had not previously been made public, including how Twiggs said Robinson behaved in their apartment when he saw him the day after Kirk was assassinated.
Twiggs told prosector Ryan McBride his roommate was pacing around and, when he asked him whether what he had confessed in a written note and text messages the day before – that he was the gunman who killed Kirk – was true, he confirmed it.
PROSECUTOR: Was he pacing? Was he just sitting down, relaxing?
TWIGGS: No, he was– he was walking around a lot.
PROSECUTOR: And that’s within the home?
TWIGGS: Mhmm.
PROSECUTOR: And did he talk about what he had done?
TWIGGS: Didn’t go into detail. He just– I just asked him in person if what he said was true the night before, and he said it was. He started crying a little bit and said he wishes he hadn’t done it, and then kept going around and just doing stuff. I think to keep himself busy or distracted or something.
After much debate between the prosecution and defense over how the interview would be played in court, the public ended up being able to see Twiggs on camera. Despite Robinson’s defense referring to him as “Luna” and Twiggs confirming to McBride that “some” people call him that, he was dressed as a man, wearing a suit and tie, for the interview.
‘Stunning’ New Details
On Thursday’s edition of The Megyn Kelly Show, Megyn called the latest revelations from the court proceedings “stunning” as they shed new light into Robinson and Twiggs’ relationship. It also offered a rare glimpse at the man who has remained somewhat illusive for the last 10 months.
But other details about Twiggs have emerged. Last September, a popular YouTuber – Tom Swanson, who is known as “Turkey Tom” on the platform – dropped a bombshell report about Twiggs and Robinson.
Swanson has over 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube and puts out long-form, documentary-style videos about online controversies mostly to do with internet and gaming culture. Following Kirk’s murder, he posted a 40-minute video about the assassination.
Swanson says after that coverage, a friend of the pair, who wished to remain anonymous, reached out with new details about their relationship, what it was like inside their apartment, and events leading up to the shooting.
According to Swanson, this person – who told him they had been friends with Robinson and Twiggs for six years and counted them as close friends – provided him with a multitude of information to verify their identity. They also provided photos from inside Twiggs and Robinson’s apartment, drawings allegedly made by Twiggs, and Discord archives that this person claims to have been in along with Twiggs and Robinson.
The Megyn Kelly Show reached out to Swanson and he said he stood by the story. To be clear, this is Swanson’s reporting. The program has not independently verified the messages sent by the anonymous friend. The FBI told us they do not comment on ongoing investigations.
Twiggs has refused to speak with the media, including The Megyn Kelly Show. The Daily Mail reported he and his family have moved to Texas where The Mail caught up with him en route to a Taco Bell. He refused to speak with them.
Swanson said he reached out to Twiggs and he told him he couldn’t say anything due to the ongoing investigations. Megyn’s team also attempted to connect with Twiggs and Swanson’s source but received no response.
The Report
On Thursday’s show, Megyn noted “the Swanson report was picked up by various outlets online but others questioned it, specifically wondering if Swanson was being used by someone – possibly the government – to spread information they wanted into the public domain.”
“We have no way of verifying or dismissing those suspicions,” Megyn explained. “But since the court has decided to allow such secrecy around the Twiggs video, we decided to err on the side of more disclosure and let viewers decide of what value this is.”
