In what is turning into a very sweet annual tradition, Megyn’s kids took over the AM Update hosting duties this morning as a Mother’s Day gift to her.
Megyn generally records Monday’s update late Sunday, but Yates, Yardley, and Thatcher wanted to give their mom the night off. The trio got behind the mic and took turns anchoring the show, which included coverage of Spencer Pratt’s surging Los Angeles mayoral campaign and the controversy surrounding the Democratic National Committee’s 2024 ‘autopsy’ report.
“I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day. If you tuned into AM Update this morning, you heard my kids take over the show,” Megyn shared on Monday’s edition of The Megyn Kelly Show. “They took on the hard work of actually getting the tracking done. I was there, and I confess that it was actually super fun and enjoyable to watch them do it.”

Megyn shared that she and the kids are so appreciative of all the kind comments listeners left on YouTube and emailed in.
“I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope all of you moms out there had a great day. I certainly did,” Megyn said. “It is just such a good reminder of what’s important. The news matters, and… obviously, we keep up on it a lot. If you’re listening to this show, so do you. But time with your family, time with the people you love and who love you, the ones you go through this crazy life with, that’s what really matters.”
It’s a message that we are sometimes too quick to forget. “We all know that, but, too often, we forget to stop and actually immerse ourselves – without our phones – just in time with those people,” Megyn noted. “[My kids] are getting older. My oldest son has two more years in the house before he goes off to college. It’s hard to believe. So, every moment counts. Every moment.”
