As Megyn has shared, she needs professional help for her hair (hi, astronaut Sara!), but she does her own makeup for most of her shows and events.
Over the years, we’ve learned that she loves IT Cosmetics Bye, Bye Foundation because it is buildable (i.e. you can customize the coverage from light to full depending on your needs) and does not crease or get cakey (i.e. one of the most annoying pitfalls of complexion products). And we’ve also gotten a closer look at her at-home and in-office skincare routine.
Backstage at the ‘Megyn Kelly Live’ tour this fall, Megyn let us in on a couple more of her makeup must-haves.
Highlighter
Whether you are looking to balance the shadows of your contour or simply want to boost your natural radiance, Megyn shared that her favorite highlighter is the Sephora Colorful Powder Luminizer.
The under-$15 find, which comes in six versatile shades, is her go-to for strategically illuminating her complexion. “It’s not fancy, it’s not particularly expensive, and it does such a nice job of highlighting,” she shared.
As Megyn explained, she applies the velvety powder with a brush to the tops of her cheek bones and bridge of her nose to catch the light. While she uses a hefty amount for her on-camera glam, she promised that a lighter dusting will impart a dewy, lit-from-within glow that is appropriate for every day wear.
Her tip for IRL: “A little goes a long way.”
Lip Gloss
Last year, Megyn let us in our her go-to lip liner and a couple of the lip colors she likes to wear in the red studio while filming The Megyn Kelly Show (you can check them out here). But she revealed another one of her faves while backstage in Jacksonville, Florida: Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Sun.
She likes the affordable drugstore lippie because it offers a subtle sheen and nice wash of color without being sticky or goopy. But her favorite part is actually… the smell. “It’s like candy,” Megyn told us. “You put it on your lips and you feel like you are at Willa Wonka’s factory, which is my happy place because, of course, I love that movie.”
After applying it, she joked that now her “whole face smells good,” which a multitasking benefit we did not see coming!
