Last weekend might have been Father’s Day, but Strudwick managed to make it all about himself with a series of unfortunate events that landed him at the vet. We are happy to report that our four-legged friend emerged none the worse for the wear, but we’ll let Megyn take you through the drama:
“Strud got out of the family room area Friday night. We found him roaming the house in the middle of the night and knew this was no bueno. When we went downstairs, we discovered he went to town on the leftover pizza and three boxes of gum that is supposed to be toxic but … yeah, he’s fine. Here’s the damage:
On Saturday, we were out but my daughter was home and (unfortunately) left the pantry doors open for 10 minutes. When she came back, this was the scene. Watch:
Turns out, it was hot chocolate mix, not protein powder. And, you may have noticed, a 100 percent blackout chocolate bar. The latter made even me call the vet, who told me to bring him in. I got him there straightaway and sat in her office as they induced vomiting in the next room.

This trip was probably was unnecessary, but – given the gum situation earlier and the 100 percent cacao chocolate bar plus a can of hot chocolate – I figured even Strud might need to see the vet.
She told me he threw up a cat litter box worth of chocolate-colored fluid, and the response from the vet technicians was reportedly, “WOAH.” She assured me is going to be fine.
This was him on the way home, and he has been totally fine since.

You’d never know anything happened. Except for this…

Never a dull moment.”
