Megyn and Doug Had a Lot of Questions After Tom Brady’s Bizarre Runway Debut at the Gucci Show

Tom Brady made a name for himself on the football field, while his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen was the queen of the catwalk. But the seven-time Super Bowl champ tried to take a page from Bündchen’s playbook Saturday night when he walked in his first runway show.

Brady was one of the ‘models’ strutting through Times Square for the star-studded Gucci show, which marked new creative director Demna’s first cruise collection for the Italian fashion house. But unlike supermodel Cindy Crawford’s triumphant return to the runway, the quarterback-turned-broadcaster did not elicit rave reviews in his debut.

In fact, everything from his gait to his guise was highly scrutinized. And on Tuesday’s show, Megyn was joined by her husband Doug Brunt, author of The Lost Empire of Emanuel Nobel, to react to Brady’s appearance and the speculation it has led to.

Runway Rookie

According to The New York Times, Brady was “helicoptered in” to walk the streets of Times Square in a leather motorcycle jacket and matching pants. Times fashion critic Vanessa Friedman wrote that “he should not give up his day job,” but you didn’t need to be an expert to deduce that.

The internet seemingly had a ball coming up with comparisons for Brady’s all-black leather everything ensemble coupled with his stiff walk and perma-smirk. First and foremost, however, Megyn took issue with the styling, which, to be fair, was out of Brady’s control.

“It doesn’t look like anything any man would want to wear on a cruise. I don’t understand what man would wear head to toe leather on any sort of cruise. No, that seems off to me,” she said. “And it has led to the following comments online: Why is he walking like Robocop? Why is he walking like the Tin Man? He appears to be in some physical pain just walking. Did he learn nothing from Gisele?”

About Face

But there was also another question on many people’s minds after seeing the 48 year old: What’s going on with his face?

Doug noted that he and Megyn met the former Patriots star when he co-chaired the 2017 Met Gala, which they attended. “He was so gracious and charming. He’s got the ‘it’ factor,” Doug recalled. “This was 10 years ago, and he was handsome. He should have, like, held right there.”

Instead, Doug said something seems different about Brady’s face. “I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what we’re seeing here – and I’m a fan of Tom Brady,” he noted. “He is not the greatest athlete, but he’s a great athlete [and] he has always gotten better results than anyone because he… will outwork you, and he is mentally tough, and all this stuff. So, I’m a fan, but I don’t know what is going on here.”

“I hate to say it… but I’m getting Caitlyn Jenner vibes,” Doug added. “I don’t know why no one is saying it, though. Am I the only one seeing that, or is everyone seeing it and… not saying it?”

There are some very dramatic ‘before and after’ comparisons going around social media that certainly suggest Brady has lost some weight over the years. That would certainly sharpen one’s features, but, in Megyn’s view, it looks like more than that.

“Maybe he just lost a lot of weight, but I don’t think so,” she said. “I actually asked one of my dermatologists about this and he too said that he sees feminization surgery going on… He hasn’t examined Tom Brady, for the record. This is just his armchair opinion in looking at the differences.”

“But look, everything is sharper and more angled, and there is a question about whether that’s just weight loss and the difference in workout routine or whether there is professional surgery involved there to try to make him look just a little more feminine/looksmaxxing,” she added. “I don’t know, but I don’t think Tom Brady is a stranger to the plastic surgeon’s office. That’s just my own armchair belief. I don’t think that evolution we are watching there happens naturally.”
