The Real Story Behind Why Blake Lively Went Solo to the Met Gala Without Husband Ryan Reynolds

There is new reporting on why Blake Lively showed up to the Met Gala alone just hours after settling her lawsuit with Justin Baldoni for reportedly $0. It was a complete surrender on her part, but now we know some nauseating details about what was going on behind the scenes.

Showing Up Solo

Insiders exclusively told The Daily Mail that Lively attended the Met Gala without husband Ryan Reynolds because they both “they both felt this moment should be hers.” As we covered yesterday, she showed up in a dress that looks like the trio of sherbet you get with the purple, the orange, and the pink.

That is what she wore to the Met Gala, where she also gave the most absurd statement to Vogue about why she was there. “I haven’t been to the Met since giving birth to my fourth child,” she said. “Every year I am a different version of myself than the last, so to be able to stand in the version of myself that I am today – and all the experiences I’ve had – in strength and confidence is important to me.”

Who talks like that?

In any event, a source told The Daily Mail that “once a settlement started to feel like a very real possibility, that’s when she decided to go to the Met Gala. In her mind, if things worked out, it could be a bit of a victory lap, a way of showing she’s still standing after everything and is ready to move forward.”

Still standing after she tried to unjustly ruin a man’s life? Good for her. You’re so strong, Blake. Such a role model.

According to the source, “she’s done letting this court battle dictate her life and wants to get back to work and rebuild her career. Being there gave her an ego boost, and she loved that she’s still part of the conversation.”

Who let it dictate her life? She is the one who started this whole thing. She makes it sound like she was victimized. Being there gave her an ego boost? What a small person. You feel good because people who don’t know you are trying to make a dime off of photographing you and shouting, ‘Blake, Blake, Blake’? I have bad news for you, Blake. They did it to me too when I attended the Met Gala and, trust me, I am meaningless to them as well.

And if the part about her loving that she is “still part of the conversation” is true, she is more oblivious than we knew. Are you aware what part of the conversation you are in, Blake? It is the part about soulless grifters who try to get ahead in life by hurting others without any empathy, guilt, or compunction about what they are doing to innocents. That is the part you are in.

On the Homefront

The Daily Mail heard from another “insider” that “Ryan and Blake were always united during this, but they weren’t always on the same page.” The source said he was supportive but also has “always been of the mind that she needed to settle and move forward” because “this has been… bad for their careers” and “an enormous amount of stress for them both.”

Reynolds apparently recognized that “he’s so closely associated with her, and she’s become toxic.” That source added that the Deadpool creator stopped wanting to talk about the trial and reverted to listening mode. “Once, like maybe a year ago, she was upset and talking and he just sat there quietly,” the insider told The Mail. “I am sure it got worse and worse.”

Ask yourself how this wound up in The Daily Mail. Who wanted us to know that? Could it be Ryan?

Last Gasp

At the Met Gala, The Daily Mail reported Lively made a point of going up to people she hadn’t seen in a while, like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Heidi Klum. While a source said the lawsuit “turned her into somewhat of a pariah, especially when they learned that Taylor Swift had cooled on her, the feeling is the event was her way of signaling she’s back in the fold.”

The takeaway: “She seemed genuinely relieved last night.”

Great. I hope you are. This chapter is over. Now you have only to rescue your reputation from the gutter. The only way forward I see for you is having your husband produce your next movie. There is just no way her next project isn’t either produced by Ryan Reynolds or a favor to him.

There is no audience for Blake Lively. There are maybe 10 woke women on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and that’s it. You can’t really have a movie career based on that. So, I hope she enjoyed the Met Gala. It is probably the last time she will feel adored for a while.
