Megyn Breaks Down Multiple Videos of Alex Pretti’s Violent Clash with Law Enforcement 11 Days Before Death

The News Movement

Stunning new video sheds new light on what Alex Pretti was up to the week before he was fatally shot by Border Patrol officers.

Contrary to the narrative that Pretti was just an innocent protester and caring nurse who was simply making his voice heard in opposition to the Trump administration’s deportation policies, there is now footage of the 37 year old’s previous confrontation with law enforcement that tells a very different story.

The New Footage

The encounter occurred on January 13 in Minneapolis around 10:15am, 11 days before Saturday’s shooting. The footage, filmed by The News Movement and posted on Wednesday, was first verified by BBC News and Pretti’s parents later confirmed that it was their son.

Rather than peacefully protesting, Pretti, who was dressed virtually the same as he was on the day he was killed, can be seen spitting on and attacking federal law enforcement officers. He also smashed their vehicle’s tail light during the altercation.

The damage to the light is what seemed to prompt agents, at least some of whom appeared to be with Homeland Security Investigations, to get out of the SUV and tackle Pretti to the ground. He was held there for about 20 seconds before they let him go and drove off.

When Pretti returned to his feet, a gun could be seen tucked into the back waistband of his pants. During the deadly confrontation with federal officers Saturday, he had a gun holstered on his hip that was spotted by an unidentified Border Patrol agent who could be heard yelling about him being armed prior to shots being fired.

In the footage of the January 13 incident, Pretti is also heard urging federal officers to assault him in a profanity-laced tirade. It is unclear if this skirmish is the one CNN was alerted to earlier this week by an anonymous source who said Pretti was tackled and had a rib broken after “he stopped his car after observing ICE agents chasing what he described as a family on foot and began shouting and blowing his whistle.”

The Reaction

A representative for the Pretti family told CBS News they were aware of what transpired in the new footage and that he sustained injuries during the scuffle but did not receive medical care. Their attorney, Steve Schleicher, tried to downplay Pretti’s behavior.

“A week before Alex was gunned down in the street — despite posing no threat to anyone — he was violently assaulted by a group of ICE agents,” Schleicher said in a statement. “Nothing that happened a full week before could possibly have justified Alex’s killing at the hands of ICE on Jan 24.”

The messaging has been similar from leftists who also have tried to minimize Pretti’s behavior. On Thursday’s show, Megyn broke down what happened in the new videos and called out those who have tried to paint Pretti as a hero. Watch:
