At the top of The Megyn Kelly Show today, my guest, Batya Ungar-Sargon, pointed out that there are still people who are so clueless about the news they think President Donald Trump actually said there were “very fine people on both sides” about white supremacists at the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
It’s a lie. He didn’t say that. He was talking about people who don’t like to see the statues of historical figures being torn down. It has been dubbed a lie even by the left-wing so-called fact-checker Snopes. But still, the left pushes it. Former President Obama peddled it on the campaign trail for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz last year.
The left loves this lie, so they choose to believe it or they are just too ignorant of the truth to not believe it.
The Dellusion
Enter CNN anchor Abby Phillip, who recently commented not on this exact example but on the information vacuum she perceives as existing only on the right. It is the right-wing that has siloed news, you see, whereas the left and everybody else actually understands what is going on in the world.
Now, this is somebody who hosts a show on CNN that has absolutely no ratings, but it does get clipped and circulated on X. She decided to go over to Joy Reid’s new podcast (good luck with that), and had this description of her job in that CNN chair:
“Conservatives are living in a completely different information world than liberals. And breaking that down needs to be done. Because when you don’t ever even hear the facts, it’s hard to even know that you’re wrong. And that happens a lot. I mean, half my job sometimes is knowing what the latest conspiracy is, so that if it comes up, I’m ready to address it. Because it happens a lot where people don’t even know that what they’re saying or what they’ve seen and believe is not true. And so that, that happens a lot, and I don’t, I don’t come away from that saying, lWhat’s the point of this? People are just saying false things.’ I think that one time that that person brings up something that is debunked and false, and I debunk it at the table, might be the very first time that someone out there has heard an alternative point of view?”
I can’t take this bullshit.
Phillip’s Bias
My team put together just some examples of things Abby Phillip has gotten totally wrong (you can watch them in the clip above). She didn’t understand why people were questioning whether Joe Biden actually knew who he was pardoning at the end of his term. She pushed back on Scott Jennings when he pointed out that social media users were openly celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
She told a panel that Batya was on that she had seen “no evidence” Biden directed any of the lawfare against Trump. Why don’t you go to the April 2022 New York Times piece that published Biden’s demand that Attorney General Merrick Garland prosecute Trump?
How did that wind up in The New York Times? Oh, gee, I’m left to wonder. Could it possibly have been that Joe Biden wanted it in The New York Times because his private, behind-the-scenes pressure was not doing the trick? That is exactly what happened. She, I guess, missed that, even though her colleague Anderson Cooper reported on it at length.
She also reported that the videos of Joe Biden falling down were deep fakes. She fell for that, saying they don’t show the full context. Right, because, if anything, they were too kind to Joe Biden and didn’t show him actually dribbling into his pudding. She ran cover for him.
The nerve of her to go say this stuff about debunking conspiracy theories to Joy Reid – the woman who, after Trump was shot in the head, said we still don’t know whether he was hit by a bullet. Abby Phillip actually spins herself as the one who sets lies straight and puts the truth to the lie. That in itself is a lie. Her record is long, and it speaks for itself.
‘Utter Bore’
Abby Phillip is a liar. What she did in that clip with Joy Reid was lie from start to finish to paint herself as something better than what she is. She is a self-aggrandizer, but she is just as biased and full of bullshit as the rest of them over at CNN and MSNBC.
That is why her show is failing. Getting a couple of viral clips is not that helpful to CNN. They need actual ratings. She is not the answer. She can’t get viewers because she is an utter bore. She cannot anchor a show. That is why she has to have so many people on a panel.
I’m sorry, Abby, if no one has told you that, but that is why they put 10 people on your panel. They realized as soon as you took the seat that you were too boring to solo. That’s the truth. I was in cable news for a really long time. I know of what I speak.
