Megyn Reacts to Viral #RushTok Videos: ‘These Are the Kind of Women I Admire and Applaud’

TikTok/Clemson Tri Delta

Bill Maher has some thoughts about the ladies of The View. He was interviewing Drew Barrymore on the latest episode of his Club Random podcast that dropped Monday when he said he doesn’t think the co-hosts represent women well.

“I love Whoopi [Goldberg] and Joy [Behar]. Those are the two I really know. And I did [the show] like a year ago, and I liked everybody. But I don’t know if they’re really, at this moment, the best advertisement for women,” he said. “They say some things that are just, like, not helpful, say to elections.”

#RushTok

He’s right about that. And you know who is a better advertisement for women? May I present the Clemson University Tri Delta who are going viral for this so-called #RushTok video:

@clemsontridelta ROUNDDDING UP PC ‘25!!! WORK WEEK DAY 3🐎🐎🐎 #CLEMSONTRIDELTA #GOGREEK #RUSHTOK #SORORITYRUSH #GOTRIDELTA ♬ Hoedown Throwdown – spencer 💅

They are dancing together in unison in cowboy boots, cowboy hats, and jeans shorts. They are sexy, gorgeous, and, obviously, smart. That is a better representation of women.

Literally nobody is looking at Joy Behar thinking, That is how I want to be when I grow up. Or Whoopi, for that matter. There was a time when Whoopi was a big actress. She was in Ghost. She was in a very funny movie called Jumpin’ Jack Flash, which I genuinely enjoyed back in the day. She didn’t take herself that seriously.

But now she thinks her political opinion is really important. She thinks because she won’t say Donald Trump’s name, that is somehow going to, like, erase Trump. Who is looking at that thinking, I want to grow up to be just like that? Very few.

Meanwhile, those sorority recruiting videos are all over X and TikTok right now. It is mostly at these SEC schools, where it is Rush Week. I have a dear friend whose daughter actually happens to be a Clemson. She is not a Tri Delt, but she is in a different sorority and they go back early to put on Rush and recruit.

And what you see coming out of these girls are these amazing videos and efforts trying to say: It is fun to be a young woman. It is fun here. Come join our sorority.

Yes, some of them are over the top with their material values. There is an article in The New York Post today talking about how, at some universities, they go so far you have to have a certain watch or jewelry. No one is condoning that.

But the vast, vast majority of these videos are young women who are loving being young, smart, and beautiful – and it’s awesome. I think this shows that young women of America are happy to lean back into being hot, together, free, and unmasked in every way.

Finding Freedom

These kids going to college now were part of the COVID generation. They got screwed five years ago by the COVID nonsense, whether they were in eighth grade or ninth grade. Something important got taken away from them, but now they are free and they are done dealing with that bullsh-t. They are not afraid to show their sex appeal. They are not afraid to go get a great college degree and join the workforce or get their “Mrs.” degree and meet a husband at a young age and have a great family early on when they are the most fertile. Right on, sisters! Do it!

I love their confidence. I love their sass. I love how they are leaning into their just how saucy they are.

I was watching my 14-year-old daughter play tennis recently. In between sets, she was kind of bouncing around and hitting the ball on her racket. She didn’t take much of a rest. She didn’t sit down on the bench. She was kind of just having fun on the court. And I was thinking to myself, you know, she’s only got 14,000 miles on her, which is different from someone like me who’s got a lot more.

That is what I see when I look at these girls. They’ve got 18,000 or 19,000 miles on them, and they’re energetic, they’re joyful, they have a zest for life, and they’re with their “sisters” and would-be “sisters” in these sororities. I am uplifted by it. I love to see them out there doing it and inviting other young girls to be part of it.

Have fun. Enjoy your youth. Don’t labor around lamenting whiteness, and the Palestinian plight, and self-flagellating like you get at so many of these universities. College should be fun. Yes, you are going to learn some things. But let’s be honest, unless you are pre-med, are you really going to hold on to anything you learned in college? Only Michael Knowles did. His big brain holds onto everything.

Most of us go for another four years where we can mature socially and make connections. It serves as a way to formalize the separation process from our parents, and, yes, provide some sort of academic foundation for our next steps and for the real jobs that are coming our way.

Why would you go spend your time in these, you know, “tent Tifa” cities saying you better divest from Israel or your university is going to get felonized; we are going to break its windows, spray-paint buildings, and harass Jews? Or we are going to do BLM marches where we talk about how racist and terrible this country is, tear down statues, and say we want to be communists and we hate our parents?

It is sick.

Something to ‘Admire’

What I see when I see these young girls is joy, possibility, and an element of frivolity and temporary carelessness, which young people need. They have a lot that they could be worrying about. Let them have their carefree moments.

In any event, those are the kind of women that I look up to, that I admire, that I applaud – not Whoopi or Joy. And, once again, Bill Maher is right.
