After being sentenced to four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, plus another 10 years on Wednesday for the November 2022 murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, Bryan Kohberger was sent to Idaho’s lone maximum security prison.
The 30 year old’s controversial plea deal allowed him to avoid the death penalty and did not force him to reveal a motive or give an explanation for the heinous crimes he committed. But we are learning more about exactly what evidence the prosecution had thanks to a lift on the years-long gag order.
Immediately following the sentencing, the prosecution team and investigators on the case took questions from the media in a highly anticipated Q&A. And hours later, the Moscow Police Department in Idaho released hundreds of previously unseen documents and thousands more are expected in the days and weeks to come.
While plenty remains unknown, we have learned new details about the brutality of the crime scene and injuries sustained by the victims, how acquaintances and fellow inmates felt about Kohberger, a possible stalking incident involving the murderer and one of his victims, and more.
On Friday’s show, Megyn reacted to the presser and read through some of the newly released documentation as she broke down the continued fallout from the Idaho murders.
The Press Conference
Megyn raised serious concerns about law enforcement’s press conference after the sentencing, what may be driving their continued lack of transparency, their dismissive answer relating to whether the crimes were targeted, and more.
The Document Dump
Megyn examined the latest details about the crime from the Moscow PD document dump, including new forensics from the coroner, details about the crime scene from when police arrived, the extent of the injuries, and more.
