‘Entitled Brats’: White House Interns Call for Ceasefire in Gaza in Anonymous Letter to President Biden

The latest Americans to voice their displeasure with the U.S. government’s support of Israel in the wake of the Hamas terror attacks on October 7? The White House interns.

Earlier this week, a group of unnamed underlings penned a letter to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris demanding a “permanent ceasefire” in the Israel-Hamas war.

On Wednesday’s show, Megyn was joined by Stu Burguiere, host of BlazeTV’s Stu Does America, and Daily Mail columnist Dave Marcus to discuss the “entitled brats” behind the letter and what it says about the future of the Democrat Party.

White House Intern Letter

On Tuesday, NBC News reported more than three dozen fall 2023 interns working in the White House and Executive Office of the President submitted a co-signed letter addressed to the president and vice president condemning the Biden administration’s response to the Israel-Hamas war.

The letter stated that the interns “will not longer remain silent on the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people” and “call on the Administration to demand a permanent ceasefire.” They claimed they are the “leaders of tomorrow” and “will never forget how the pleas of the American people have been heard and, thus far, ignored.”

The interns acknowledged that they were “horrified by the brutal October 7th Hamas attack on Israeli civilians,” but they are also “horrified by the brutal and genocidal response by the Israeli government.” They “maintain that anything other than a complete halt of Israel’s mass slaughter of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip will simply not suffice.”

Ultimately, the group urged Biden and Harris “to call for a permanent ceasefire… and put an end to the illegal occupation and the Israeli apartheid, in accordance with international law and for a free Palestine.” The letter was signed “in solidarity” by “40+ White House & EOP Interns for Palestine.” While a number of offices are listed on the letter, none of the interns lent their names to the document.

‘Entitled Brats’

While Megyn said it would be easy to assume the letter was a “parody,” it is all too real and, in her words, all too reflective of “absolutely disgusting, entitled conduct.”

As she explained, the “lunatic leftists” brought this on themselves. “You are now having interns demand things of the president of the United States who has been good enough to give them a position in the White House,” she said. “These are probably all the kids of donors and so on. What a bunch of brats.”

Their decision to not publicly name themselves adds insult to injury. “These courageous souls… did not put their names on the letter,” Megyn noted. “They would like to remain anonymous; they want to be anonymous entitled brats.”

Burguiere noted these “incredibly brave” interns represent the future of the left. “This is, I guess, what you get when you turn over the intellectual leadership of your movement to Greta Thunberg – you wind up with a bunch of people who don’t know anything about what they’re talking about,” he explained. “We can sit here and mock the interns, but these are the up-and-coming voices… who are going to the fancy schools, that are getting the high quality internships, that have a pathway to the leadership of the future Democratic Party.”

While Burguiere said the “disgusting behavior by so many on the left” is a cause for concern, he said there may be hope. “It might be the optimistic part of me, which is credibly small at this point, but I see a little bit of light in some people on the Democratic side who have been a little bit awakened,” he explained. “They’re seeing thousands of people every single day in cities across the country and colleges across the country… arguing for the genocide of all Jews.”

He pointed to pro-Israel sentiment from Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Hillary Clinton as examples. “Some people on the left have a little bit of awareness on this issue and are calling it out,” he concluded. “But the voices are not loud enough.”
