We have to talk about Megan Rapinoe, who, as you know, decided to pull the ladder up behind her after she made millions playing soccer. She would love for your daughter and mine to have to play against biological boys who could physically hurt them at any turn. She has absolutely no care about that.
She has a podcast with her fiancée, former WNBA player Sue Bird, and they ripped on the U.S. men’s hockey team for having the nerve to have FBI Director Kash Patel in the locker room after their gold medal win on Sunday and to take the call from President Donald Trump. Here’s a taste of that:
RAPINOE: In what I like to call a classic ripping defeat from the jaws of victory, the United States men’s hockey team in their utter moment of glory, childhood dreams come true, once in a lifetime accomplishment, sensational, ruined it for themselves because they allowed themselves to be totally co-opted by a clown. And now you’re a clown. You look like a clown. Kash Patel is in the locker room. He’s partying. He’s chugging beers. I’m not like decorum over everything. That’s not what I need out of my FBI director. Like, what are we doing?
The nerve of this woman to call these guys clowns and say they look like clowns. The nerve. What should they have done? Should they have said, ‘No, we don’t want to take a congratulatory call from the president. We refuse. We are #Resistance’? The absurdity of that.
Let me give you a bit more of what she said:
RAPINOE: They get on the phone with Trump. I have questions whether there’s even a secure line. That’s beside the point. And Trump makes the comment about the women’s team… and then men’s hockey team erupts in giggles and har har hars. You just accomplished this amazing thing… and then you just gave this whole moment over to this person who you know is just only gonna use it for him, gonna totally co-opt it.
Hey, first of all, the joke isn’t even funny, like, from a technical joke standpoint. Like, I don’t understand the funny part of the joke… I always say this, like, I can’t believe how much how people have such a, like, a lack of self-preservation. But if you don’t think you’re in threat, then you’re not going to preserve…
For me, the choice point is, like, I would have never as a captain or a leader on my team. I think you can say the same. I think that would have been clear to our staffs and to the larger organization and, like, support staff, those people would never be allowed in our locker room. Never.
She claims she wouldn’t have taken the call, and she wouldn’t have allowed Kash Patel in the locker room. And yet Clay Travis reports that then-President Barack Obama called the U.S. women’s soccer team after they won the World Cup in 2015, and then-Vice President Joe Biden was on the field for the title game and joined the team in person for their title celebration that day.
So, Megan Rapinoe is lying. She was completely fine with a Democrat president calling in to congratulate the team with a Democrat vice president celebrating on the field with them. She did not find that in any way controversial. It is only controversial when it is President Trump, you see, which transforms you from a national hero into a clown.
She is full of hatred for anyone who is a white male. She is jealous that they are in the spotlight and she is not. In fact, she is loathed by more than half the country, unlike these guys, who are beloved by everyone except a tiny segment of rabid partisans. She wants it taken away from them, and she feels powerless to do it because she is.
