‘Congratulations to No One’: Megyn Slams the Self-Aggrandizing on Display at the Golden Globes

The 2026 Golden Globes were awarded last night, and there was so much moral hypocrisy and nonsense on display.

Anti-Ice Protest

Actors like Mark Ruffalo showed up wearing “Be Good” pins as an homage to Renee Good. On the red carpet, he claimed it was “for her” and “for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today” because of ICE.

“I know I’m one of them,” he added. “I love this country, and what I’m seeing here happening is not America.”

He is the worst.

Wanda Sykes Presents

Then, there was Wanda Sykes – female, black comedian – who got up there to present an award and made it all about herself:

SYKES: Shout out to the Golden Globes for having me because, you know, there’s some people pissed off that a queer black woman is up here doing the job of two mediocre white guys.

That is so racist. If they are white and they are guys, you have to dismiss them as mediocre. It’s like, ‘Everybody sucks, but I am the oppressed queer black woman doing it all. Shout out for me.’ She was basically begging them to applaud for her.

You’re pathetic, Wanda Sykes. Do better. You don’t need to do that in order to feel good about yourself. Just live your beautiful life and you will attract positive energy. Negative energy will come, too, because there is a lot of envy in this world. But you handle it like a pro, like a classy lady, not somebody who is constantly mentioning, essentially, the fact that she has darker melanin and a vag.

She also hit Ricky Gervais, who is also the greatest to ever host the Globes, because he has been standing up for women’s rights. He won the Best Stand-Up Comedy on Television award Sykes was presenting, but he wasn’t there. While accepting the award on his behalf, she said, “He would like to thank God and the trans community.”

That is so disrespectful. How dare you. You are a tough girl. You stood up for the trans community, and you ripped Ricky and disparaged his win by mocking him. Golden Globes, she should never be allowed to present again.

Remember when comedians and awards shows were just funny? Why does anybody watch this shit anymore? We have a team that watches it so that you don’t have to, but how pathetic.

Best Podcast Category

And then we got to the brand new category of Best Podcast, which the Golden Globes added this year because it wants to be more relevant. You have heard me tell this story, but The Megyn Kelly Show was in contention for the award and we pulled ourselves from consideration

You had to fill out all these forms and pay a fee. They also wanted me to go to Hollywood and do interviews with Golden Globes members behind the scenes in order to woo them into voting for me. There was zero chance I was doing any of that, so we pulled the show from consideration.

Amy Poehler and her Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast won. That’s no shock, right? They gave it to one of their own. She was up against Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, The Mel Robbins Podcast, SmartLess, and NPR’s Up First. Here’s what NPR host Leila Fadel had to say when talking about it this morning:

“…We were the one news podcast that informs the public, often under intense pressure. Our journalists are around the world. Today, we’re going to be talking about Iran, and the Fed, and all of these things. And I was just thinking about that while we were in this glamorous room that we were representing the difficult work of our journalists around the world…”

The self-aggrandizing. “Intense pressure”? Wow, I don’t know how we deal with it here at The MK Show. The “intense pressure” of having to report on Iran, Minneapolis, the Fed! Oh, how will we ever handle it? She makes it sound like she is a Navy SEAL.

Speaking of our military, Dakota Meyer goes back into the Marines this week. He is a Medal of Honor recipient and one of the greatest guys we have ever had on the program. I am proud to call him a friend. That is a true, beloved, respectable American for you.

The guy has already accomplished it all. He saved the lives of three dozen men and retrieved the bodies of the fallen. He had such a tough time when he returned home from service, almost taking his own life at one point. He showed courage there, too, in talking about it. He did that on this show in one of my favorite interviews (watch it in episode 331). And today, what does he decide to do? He could be writing books or could be on the self-help speaking tour, but instead he chose to re-enlist.

‘Congrats to No One’

That is enough of the Golden Globes and that nonsense. Congratulations to no one because they are all bought and paid for. That is what we learned in this process. Not a person got up there who didn’t do the lobbying behind the scenes, who didn’t pay the thousands of dollars required to even be considered.

Remember that when you watch this stuff. I think you probably already knew, but, boy, we didn’t know it quite the way we know it now.
