Megyn has shared that one of her biggest skincare secrets is avoiding the sun as much as possible (she is fair-skinned Irish gal, after all). But that doesn’t mean she is immune to the allure of a sun-kissed glow.
So, how does she achieve her faux glow? During her end-of-year ‘Asked and Answered’ show in episode 1,222, Megyn responded to a question from Leslie, who wanted to know her favorite self-tanner for a natural look.
Her answer? The Water by Tan-Luxe.
Megyn joked that she is “as pasty as they come” and this is by far her favorite sunless tanner. “Sara, my hair stylist who is on a mission to make us all hotter than we are, turned me on to this,” she explained. “I get the light/medium shade.”
Available in light/medium and medium/dark, the fine mist goes on clear and promises not transfer to sheets or clothing. The color develops over the course of hours or days depending on what kind of look you are going for and can be used over or under makeup.
Perhaps the best part is that it doesn’t have the unfortunate smell that accompanies most self-tanners. “I love the way that one smells… which is so rare in a self-tanner,” Megyn shared. “And it gives you such a nice natural look… There is no self-tanning product I have used that I like as much as that one.”
If you are in need of quick fix, Megyn said she has also used the Tan-Luxe Express Tanning Water. It starts working in just 30 minutes, but there is a catch. “If you are in a hurry, it is helpful to have,” she noted. “But that one smells bad. So, you are going to smell bad for like an hour or two and then you wash it off.”
Regardless of which product you choose, Megyn had a very important application tip. “You do have to have somebody do your back. Don’t do your back by yourself,” she cautioned. “Sometimes I’ll make [my husband] Doug do it at home, and then he has to wash his hands.”
