What’s Really Behind the Dems’ Bizarre Video Urging Military and Intel Officers to Ignore Orders

What happens when half a dozen members of Congress who previously served in the military or intelligence community get together and make a video urging service members and intel officers to disobey orders that might come down from the Trump administration?

In a 90-second clip posted to X on Tuesday, six Democrat lawmakers repeatedly called on those in the military and intelligence community to “refuse illegal orders” while bizarrely claiming that “threats to our Constitution” are coming “from right here at home.”

On Wednesday’s show, Megyn was joined by Buck Sexton, co-host of The Clay and Buck Show, to discuss stunning video and what the Dems may be trying to lay the groundwork for.

The Video

The cringey yet shocking video begins with Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Sen. Mark Kelly, Rep. Jason Crow, Rep. Maggie Goodlander, Rep. Chris Deluzio, and Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (all Democrats) introducing themselves and their backgrounds.

In an effort to “speak directly to members of the military and the intelligence community who take risks each day to keep Americans safe” and are allegedly “under enormous stress and pressure right now,” the sextet took turns bashing the Trump administration and encouraging viewers to be insubordinate.

They claimed Americans trust in the military is “at risk” because “this administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professional against American citizens.”

Speaking to the service members and intel officers, the Dems reminded them that they “swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution” that, they purport, is under threat from nefarious actors “right here at home.”

They then traded off telling viewers that “you can refuse illegal orders” and “you must refuse illegal orders” because “no one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution.” And while they “know this is hard” and “it’s a difficult time” to be a public servant, “vigilance is critical” because the American people “need you to stand up for our laws, our Constitution, and who we are as Americans.”

Their parting rallying cry? “Don’t give up the ship.”

Laying the Groundwork?

While Megyn admitted she is “not exactly sure” what they are trying to say, she said the vibe “feels very insurrection-y.”

“Are they talking about ICE? Because they’ve been pushing the lie that ICE is running out there arresting American citizens. Is that what it is,” she asked. “Or is it the narco [boat] strikes? Is that an illegal order where President Trump has designated these cartels as foreign terrorist organizations for trying to bring in lethal chemicals to kill our sons and daughters? I have no idea.”

Sexton believes this is the latest iteration of the vague #Resistance movement that sprung up during the first Trump administration. “If there are illegal orders, tell us what they are. Tell us what the problem is,” he said. “It’s meant to be kind of an underhanded swipe at the administration.”

But he thinks Dems may be trying to lay the groundwork for what’s to come if they regain control of Congress in 2026 and/or the White House in 2028. “I think that if we had a Democrat administration, heaven forbid, in 2028, they’re going to try to bring, effectively, a war crimes tribunal together over these strikes on the narco terrorists,” Sexton said. “I think you can basically set a timer to that.”

A series of U.S. military strikes targeting suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific have killed at least 83 people since September and have come under scrutiny. Sexton said he has “heard rumblings in the national security sphere” that if Dems retake the House, “they are going to say that these are war crimes, and that these are illegal strikes, and that they’re unjustified, and they’re going to hold a whole bunch of hearings over it.”
