Megyn kicked off the Megyn Kelly Live tour in Sugar Land, Texas, Thursday night. Before she was joined on stage by special guests Donald Trump Jr. and Jesse Kelly, Megyn took questions from the audience.
The first inquiry came from a mother of two who had decamped from Connecticut to Texas but was still concerned about how to “steer” her kids – a seventh grader and a sixth grader – in “the right direction” through their high school and college years.
Megyn’s Advice
In Megyn’s view, exposing young people to different points of views while they are still living at home is crucial. Here’s her advice:
“Of course, the number one thing is just love on them. Love and love and love. That will solve most of the problems. I do think [you should] go to church every week make sure you don’t leave that void unfulfilled, because somebody else will fill it.
Our kids are 16, 14, and 12 – boy, girl, boy – and the boys are at a great school that is not woke and wonderful. But our daughter is at a school that is more woke than we would like. And while we do get involved when they veer too far left, there are some advantages to sending your child to a somewhat woke school – not super woke because that’s abusive, but somewhat woke – because they’re still in your house and you can work with them to counter program.
It’s almost like inoculating them before the lunatics on college campuses get a hold of them. I don’t think you should send them off there without any basic skills to recognize the woke mind virus when they’re exposed to it and to understand indoctrination and how it works.
That’s my basic thought on it, but love is number one.”
