Karine Jean-Pierre is making the media rounds to promote her new book, and she is giving Kamala Harris her run for her money.
My husband Doug and I were listening to clips from some of her interviews this morning, and he suggested there be some sort of a calculator to figure out how many words in each sentence she says actually have meaning. We both agreed it would probably find that only about 10 percent of her words are necessary. And then we had a debate about who would be lower on this scale, Karine or Kamala. We settled on Kamala, but KJP is in the running for the worst book tour and worst promotion around it.
We talked about it yesterday on The Megyn Kelly Show with Emily Jashinsky, but it has only gotten worse since then as she sat down with Stephen Colbert, Morning Joe, and The View. It is hard to believe the lies coming out of her mouth. She has managed to stun even me and my team. And I’ll take you through the most egregious ones.
Morning Joe
KJP stopped by the friendly confines of MSNBC Tuesday morning for a sit down with the Morning Joe crew. Now, keep in mind that the name of her book is Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House. So, how do you square this answer from the former Biden White House press secretary to a perfectly reasonable question from Jonathan Lemire?
LEMIRE: Here in the subhead is ‘a broken White House”… and if it’s not questions about his health, what made it a broken White House?
JEAN-PIERRE: So, the ‘broken White House’ is about this current moment… I talk about the story of– my personal side of the story of what happened and what I saw as White House press secretary. I think I can speak to it more in a different way, more personally even, than most people–
LEMIRE: So, tell us what you saw day in and day out.
JEAN-PIERRE: And so the ‘broken White House’ is the White House that is currently in– obviously has the administration, the Trump administration, and what I’m seeing.
She now wants us to believe that when she refers to a “broken White House,” she is talking about the Trump White House, even though the subtitle of the book is “an inside look” at it? Since when is she inside the Trump White House?
This is an obvious lie to try to minimize the blowback she is getting from Team Blue for her inane book in which she says she is leaving the Democrat Party because she is so mad about what they did to poor Joe Biden. Now, she is trying to distance herself from her printed criticisms of the Democrat Party by claiming she is actually arguing that the current White House is the broken one. How she got inside, nobody knows.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she is a “black, queer woman” – something she feels compelled to remind us seemingly every time she opens her mouth. In her view, the Dems are taking people like her for granted. Here’s what she told Morning Joe:
JEAN-PIERRE: And for me, as a black woman, as a person who’s also LGBTQ, I feel as if those communities that I am part of, largely, get taken for granted. And I see that today in groups that are being thrown under the bus for a short-term win. And it is not the big tent party that I, that I loved, and enjoyed, and was part of, and fought for. And so for me, I want to start a conversation with: How do we fix this? The system is indeed broken. The two-party system is not functioning in the way where our democracy is being protected right now. I feel as if the Democratic Party right now is too timid. They’re not speaking up. We need to be– they need to have a strategy and be really clear about how they’re moving forward in this moment.
No one knows what she is talking about. Even her leftist comrades have no clue. They want to give her the benefit of the doubt. They want to agree with her. But no one knows what she is saying.
The View
Case in point? The ladies of The View were left just as dumbfounded when she joined them around the table Tuesday morning. Here was her take on the “No Kings” protests:
JEAN-PIERRE: There were 7 million people that showed up at the No Kings rally. It grew by millions from the first to the second to the third. Where’s the Democratic Party in doing the same and peaceful protesting? Why are there not more lawsuits from the Democratic Party? They need to take action on behalf of the American people, the people who are fearful. And it’s not throwing us under the bus. It’s not throwing black women under the bus. It’s not throwing the LGBTQ community under the bus. It’s not throwing migrants and immigrants under the bus. It’s saying, No, you know what, I just remembered, we are a big tent party. And it is about your moral compass in this moment, not about politics. And you have to bring the country with you. And everybody keeps talking about 2026, 2028. No, we need to focus on right now.
She is clearly auditioning for a role on The View. She desperately wants it because, I mean, that is her IQ class and she accurately predicts she won’t be getting hired anywhere else. But what does she mean with “our part”? Does she think the Republicans were behind the No Kings events? Does she not know those were Democrats protesting?
And then what is her argument that they have thrown black women, in particular, under the bus? If she were making the case that they take black women’s votes for granted, I would give her that because that is true. But how exactly have Dems thrown them under the bus?
Her big message seems to be: I am leaving the party because they are throwing minorities, and LGBTQ, and women under the bus – and also because they are not having enough No Kings rallies like the Republicans do. Huh?
But that’s not all. She also had the nerve to take a shot at current White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt:
JEAN-PIERRE: They don’t seem to understand, this is the Trump White House, that they don’t work for just one man. They work for the American people. It is about coming together, about a common good. The White House press secretary is not about doing online trolling. It is not. It is an honor and a privilege to have that job and to speak on behalf of the most powerful person in the world. And there is a level of respect for the freedom of the press, even if you don’t just if you disagree with them. And that is what that whole back and forth when you see in the press briefing room is about. It shows that we believe in democracy. It shows the world, not just here, the world that the press is going to do what they need to do to hold us accountable, and we’re going to do what we need to do to communicate to the American people about what we’re doing.
This is the woman who sidelined James Rosen in the White House Briefing Room for eight months for asking one question about Joe Biden’s mental acuity, which was the political story of the decade.
This is the woman who coordinated with reporters by actually having them submit questions in advance. We saw them written out on cue cards and funneled to an enfeebled Joe Biden, who then cosplayed with the reporters as though something real was happening.
According to former White House staffers speaking to Politico, she reportedly had meltdowns when questions were asked that she hadn’t been given in advance of an interview. Never mind her claims about “cheap fakes” and anything else relating to Joe Biden’s fitness for office.
That is how inept this person is, and yet she still had the nerve to try to lecture Karoline Leavitt on staying truthful from the White House podium.
The Late Show
Speaking of Biden’s mental acuity, KJP actually got into it with Colbert when she dropped by The Late Show Monday night.
Here is part of that exchange:
COLBERT: …I saw a guy [at the June 2024 debate] who I had not seen backstage at the benefit that I did. It seemed like a dramatically different person. And at 81 years old, that’s not entirely unexpected. You can imagine why people got so worried.
JEAN-PIERRE: …No one is saying that he didn’t age. I’m talking about was he– did he– the questions that I was getting, the mental acuity, was he able to govern? And the man that I saw nearly every day was someone who was engaging, understood policy, and was always putting the American people first.
COLBERT: …I don’t think anyone questioned his heart or his policies. But it takes more than that to be the president of the United States. And in a moment of great pressure on stage, we saw someone shock us and worry us and no nothing could assuage that worry. So, I don’t think it was necessarily a betrayal of Joe Biden as other people saying we don’t think we were shown the Joe Biden that you saw.
JEAN-PIERRE: I disagree, Stephen. I saw, every day, a really ugly assault on someone who had 50-plus years of experience and who, again, objectively, had done a good job as president of the United States. And it was heartbreaking to see that type of behavior.
COLBERT: …What happened was the debate performance. Everything is downstream of that.
JEAN-PIERRE: And no one is saying that the debate performance wasn’t shocking, wasn’t a disappointment.
COLBERT: ‘Disappointment’ is such a light term… It was harrowing. Listen, we’re never going to agree on this.
That is just two lying liars who lie lying. ‘It was all about the debates.’ ‘No one knew what was wrong until then.’ When Colbert saw Biden at a $25 million fundraiser in March – which, last time I checked, was three months before June – there was no evidence of mental infirmity whatsoever? And of course, he is talking to the person who stood there at the lectern, saying, ‘Cheap fakes, cheap fakes, cheap fakes.’
The amount of dishonesty is amazing.
Megyn’s Message for KJP
The takeaway from this media tour: Who would listen to her? What politician on the left is going to be taking this absolute nitwit’s advice to heart? Karine, I have to tell you something because no one on your side is going to say it to you. I am going to tell you the truth…
They all think you are an idiot. That is why you were ignored, repeatedly. That is why you feel so disempowered and like they are not prioritizing black women. The Democratic Party actually does like black women. You’ve got to give them that. They just don’t like you. You are too dumb. Everyone knows you only got the press secretary job because of the two things you keep mentioning about yourself: ‘I’m black, and I’m queer.’ That’s it. That is all you have to offer.
And now, literally, no one wants to take your advice or hear your thoughts on anything. They gave you the courtesy of these interviews to promote your book because you are on Team Blue. But no one can believe how inane all of your comments are. You have either pissed off the Democratic Party, or you have confused them. You have definitely confused us.
You can check out Megyn’s full analysis by tuning in to episode 1,176 on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you like to listen. And don’t forget that you can catch The Megyn Kelly Show live on SiriusXM’s Triumph (channel 111) weekdays from 12pm to 2pm ET.
