All week long, I’ve tried to avoid elevating the leftists who are melting down about Charlie Kirk because I just don’t really give a sh-t about them. They didn’t know him. And I have been avoiding taking all this on because you are not going to convince these people. You can’t persuade these lunatics who are online celebrating that Charlie’s dead to be kind. These people need to be defeated, not reasoned with.
It’s like Donald Trump, Jr. said to me yesterday, we had somebody who reached out to the other side, and would listen to them and debate on fair terms, and “they f-cking killed him.” He is not wrong. All we can worry about is motivating our side.
Inanity on CBS Mornings
But I have to raise this sound bite of CBS Mornings co-host Nate Burleson interviewing former Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy on Thursday about the assassination. Here is what he said:
BURLESON: …Not everyone took to his words or his rhetoric. You know, at times there were offensive to specific communities. But with that said, this is not the time to focus on that. We are focused on this tragedy. Speaking of this tragedy, is this a moment for your party to reflect on political violence? Is it a moment for us to think about the responsibility of our political leaders, and their voices, and what it does to the masses as they get lost in misinformation or disinformation that turns in and spills into political violence?
You absolute asshole. What a dick this guy is.
‘Is this a time for your party, Mr. Former Republican Speaker, to reflect on political violence?’ Whose candidate almost got his head blown off a year ago?
‘It’s time for Republicans to reflect on political violence and rhetoric’? Have you taken a look at Blue Sky? Did you look at what is left of the leftists on X to see what they are saying in response to Charlie being shot down in the prime of his life?
I’m infuriated by that guy. How dare he.
The ‘Balance’
He kicked it off by saying Charlie was offensive. He basically said Charlie was a bigot with what he said about “certain communities.” You don’t know the first thing about him. You believed the bulls-t that you read on Blue Sky, then you went and sat in that studio and tried to blame Republicans for political violence when Charlie isn’t even buried yet.
You utter asshole. You are too stupid and partisan to be in front of a camera. You should be fired. They have a new CBS “ombudsman” that is supposed to reach out to Republicans. Great job. The new boss is the same as the old boss. Somebody needs to call the ombudsman because you have a lunatic sitting on CBS Mornings.
Who was the balance? None other than Gayle King, who said “both parties” should reflect. That is the balance. ‘It’s the Republicans who have a violence problem, and a rhetoric problem, and Trump is the problem, and Charlie was a bigot; but, you know, both sides kind of engage in it a little bit.’
Thanks, Gayle.
I’m sorry, but that one has been sticking in my craw. I would rather have the hysterical blue-haired person because then you know that they are nuts. But this guy is in the suit on the CBS set with the ‘Oh, I’m just being super reasonable’ tone. The left wants to ignore the millions of clips of Charlie bringing people together and run with their bullsh-t lies.
Paying No Mind
But it is not good for me or any of us to dwell on this. It raises my blood pressure too high to be thinking about these people.
Instead, we are going to think about Charlie. We are going to think about Erika. We are going to say a prayer for their family. We are going to say a prayer for our country. And we are going to say a prayer for ourselves that we maintain or reclaim, in my case, our dignity and our class and that we lead by example in the lives that we live the same way Charlie did – whether they know it or not.
