‘You Need to Retire That Act’: Megyn Unloads on Jennifer Lopez’s Sexually Explicit Dance Routine

Jennifer Lopez has been leaving little to the imagination with her risqué wardrobe choices, but she took the raunchiness to new heights at a recent concert when she simulated a number of sex acts with the help of her male dance crew.

The graphic moves came when the 55 year old took the stage at a music festival in Spain over the weekend, and the hyper-sexualized routine has not gone unnoticed. On Tuesday’s show, Megyn was joined by Emily Jashinsky, host of MK Media’s After Party with Emily Jashinsky, to discuss the crude behavior and why it is unbecoming for the pop star.

JLo was performing at the Cook Music Festival on the Canary Island of Tenerife Saturday night when she broke out a series of graphic moves during a musical interlude before performing her song “I’m Into You.”

Wearing a skimpy white thong body suit with lace-up detailing, Lopez hit a series of sexually suggestive poses with her dancers as the crowd gasped. When Megyn attempted to describe footage from the concert to her listening audience, she admitted it sounded more like she was “reading the Kama Sutra” than “watching a JLo performance.”

“We see heinie with a thong, and a man looks like he is giving her oral sex. His face is in her crotch,” Megyn explained. “She bends over and then, for the next several minutes, she simulates actual sex acts… with a bunch of men wearing just pants and corsets.”

Gone Are the Glory Days

Much like Jon Stewart over on The Daily Show reacting to Stephen Colbert’s cancellation with the help of his trusty choir, Megyn said JLo is trying – and failing – to hang onto her glory days by recycling material she should have outgrown years ago.

“She is 55 years old, and she hasn’t come to grips with the fact that she is not a sex symbol anymore,” Megyn noted. “I can say this because I will be 55 in November. We are not sex symbols. We could look great for our age… But asking the American public to look at you and be like, ‘I want to have sex when I look at her’? That ship has sailed. It sailed with menopause.”

Jashinsky agreed. “What Jon Stewart and Jennifer Lopez both want people to think is that they are actually still at the top of their edginess and their novelty, and that doesn’t work at this point in their careers,” she explained. “[We are] stuck in this loop of just tired, tired culture. But people are now starting to reject it because the gatekeepers are losing their power, and that is where you see JLo failing to sell tickets.”

‘Retire That Act’

In Megyn’s view, “a postmenopausal woman out there bumping and grinding against 30 year old men just makes us think about how old you are.” And she pointed to superstars like Tina Turner and Céline Dion who moved or are moving through the later stages of their careers with “class.”

“The thing is you can look sexy as an older woman… Hello, Tina Turner was the goddess of this into her eighties… but with class,” Megyn explained. “She was, yes, always a sex symbol in a way just because she was so sexy and strong and talented, but… she wasn’t desperate for attention.”

While Dion has dealt with health issues in recent years that have largely kept her from performing, Megyn said she is an example of someone who has let their talent speak for itself. “She wears these totally glamorous gowns… [and] her talent reigns supreme. You know it as soon as your ear hears it, and she has a world-famous talent and voice,” Megyn noted. “JLo doesn’t, and she has tried to make up the gap by being a sex symbol… for her entire career.”

Megyn said that worked well for Lopez in her twenties and thirties, but it is time to move in a new direction. “JLo has crossed over… closer to somebody you see on Only Fans, and that is where it falls apart,” she said. “At 55, you need to retire that act, put on a great dress, and try to sing. That is the point at which you’ve found yourself. This thing is not working.”
