It’s Valentine’s Day, and we have Donald Trump sending love letters in his fundraising emails and Bill Clinton wishing Hillary Clinton “one more” holiday together.
I will tell you, Doug and I don’t really make Valentine’s Day a thing. My assistant Abby – who is very on top of my life in a way that I need – was actually like, ‘I know you guys don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, but I bought a bunch of cards from you to Doug if you want to fill one out on your desk.’ I think that that might undermine the gesture.
Honestly, I’m probably not going to give Doug a card, and he’s probably not going to give me one. There was one year did it up big on Valentine’s Day. We got balloons and the whole thing. But usually we do nothing. We just chill. We’re in love every day. We really do treat each other very well no matter what the day.
With that said, I confess that I do have a present for my husband, but it’s not Valentine’s related. It’s just because I love him. I haven’t given it to him yet, so I will explain to all of you what I did for Doug and show you a picture later on. But for right now, Doug, please continue to stay out of the basement!
