Megyn Slams the ‘Desperate Gasp for Attention’ from Nearly Naked Stars on Grammys Red Carpet

Politics abounded on the Grammys red carpet in Los Angeles Sunday night, as stars showed up with their anti-ICE pins and symbolic whistles in honor of Minnesota agitators (yes, really).

But not all of the wardrobe choices were a political statement. As has become custom at these types of events, plenty of attendees left little to the imagination in their nearly naked gowns and dresses, and Megyn had no problem calling out the risqué fashion.

On Monday’s show, she was joined by Jesse Kelly, author of Jesse Kelly’s Little Red Book, to discuss the scandalous style.

Ciara Miller

Megyn admitted that she not familiar with Summer House star Ciara Miller’s body of work, but she certainly feels familiar with her body after seeing snaps of the reality star’s super skimpy black gown.

In addition to the plunging neckline in the front, the sleeveless number also featured low-cut armholes for a flagrant flash of side boob and a sky-high slit that showed off her legs – and a whole lot more. “In addition to being political hacks, they have to show up naked,” Megyn lamented. “This woman… really wanted attention, so she felt she had to go naked… Instead of keeping it classy, she decided to show us exactly what every man who has banged her has gotten to see, which seems a little aggressive.”

Heidi Klum

Supermodel Heidi Klum could make a garbage bag look good, but Megyn said the custom dress by Marina Hoermanseder did absolutely nothing for the 52 year old. “Heidi Klum is around my age, and, sister, there comes a time when you just have to stop with all the nudity,” she said. “She is [photographed nude] on the beach in St. Barts every other month. Heidi’s beautiful, but it is not exactly the way it used to be. It isn’t for any of us.”

The flesh-tone creation, which was made to look like a nude figure, was reportedly molded to Klum’s own body. From the front, that included protruding nipples, an indented belly button, and the outline of her nether region. From behind, that meant a sculpted butt crack.

“The tweet from Variety was like, ‘Heidi Klum certainly knows how to make a statement on the red carpet.’ And my response was, ‘Is it I look ridiculous?’ Because that’s all I can think when I look at this absurd, desperate grasp for attention,” Megyn noted. “She is giving off JLo and Halle Berry vibes. Those are three women who are now in their fifties, who are desperate to hold on to their sex kitten status… They stink a desperation, and I can smell it from here.”

Kelly agreed. “There comes a time in life where you got to grow up, right,” he said. “I was talking to off my wife about this this morning, and she was honestly so disappointed… She said… ‘You should be in a classy, beautiful dress because you are Heidi Klum, you are beautiful, and you don’t have to do that anymore. Why are you still doing that?'”

Chappell Roan

While he joked that he “wasn’t encouraging it,” Kelly said he could make more sense of “some 22-year-old starlet trying to get noticed” by being “as naked as humanly possible on the red carpet,” which might help explain these next two looks.

Chappell Roan let it all hang out (literally) in a sheer maroon Mugler gown that draped down from – wait for it – faux nipples and nipple rings. To make herself decent for TV interviews on the red carpet, she topped off the barely-there design with a matching cape.

Megyn said the “Hot to Go” signer’s outfit choice left little to the imagination in more ways than one. “She’s been praised for her ‘unapologetic authenticity’ and her ‘expression of queerness and femininity’ in her music and live performances. And here’s what you need to know about her: She says she had a ‘really depressed childhood’ and wasn’t diagnosed as bipolar until five years ago, when she was 22,” she noted. “So, I think we could have known a lot of that without really any words, just the dress and the decision-making behind it.”

Addison Rae

Last but not least, influencer-turned-Best New Artist nominee showed up in a white Alaia gown that essentially amounted to a reverse mullet. The dress was mostly business in the front (save for the belly button-skimming cutout), but it was all party in the back. The hemline, which grazed her ankles on the frontside, trailed upward to barely cover her buttocks from behind.

To further prove the point, Rae was photographed in a Betty Boop-inspired pose that revealed matching underwear. “She got slammed as one of the worst dressed, and I agree,” Megyn said. “It is not even like, ‘Oh, you saw a little hint of my ass.’ It’s, ‘Here’s my ass, everyone.'”

Kelly said he had but one concern after seeing this parade of minimally clothed attendees that ended with Rae’s bare backside. “Do they clean the chairs at the Grammys,” he wondered. “I mean, obviously it is going to be in a fancy place, so they are going to vacuum the floors… They are going to put on new tablecloths… I know everything is going to be polished. But that chair has to be disinfected.”

“I’m going to become a germaphobe, if we kept talking about this,” he quipped. “We have to change the subject.”
