If you tuned into Monday’s AM Update with Megyn Kelly, you were treated to some very special guest hosts – Megyn’s three kids.
Megyn generally records Monday’s update late Sunday, but Yates, Yardley, and Thatcher (ages 15, 14, and 11) wanted to give their mom the night off. In honor of Mother’s Day, the trio got behind the mic and took turns anchoring the show, which included stories about the Friday incident between Democrat politicians and ICE agents at a New Jersey detention facility, the controversy surrounding the proposed Air Force One replacement, and Pope Leo XIV’s first weekend on the job.
“I edited the script along with my producer, Julia, and then they tracked it,” Megyn shared on The Megyn Kelly Show Monday. “They did it so that I wouldn’t have to do it – although, truth be told, I was there for most of their tracking and we had so much fun. It was hilarious.”
You can listen to the finished product here, but there were some funny outtakes – and a bit of drama –along the way that made for the perfect blooper reel. Take a listen:
“They had a couple of stumbles, but not many… They nailed it. They understood the pronunciations, and I was very proud of them,” Megyn said. “I appreciated their sweet… Mother’s Day gift.”
But the guest-hosting gig wasn’t the only gift from Yates, Yardley, and Thatcher. “They also gave me a baseball cap that reads ‘Gulf of America’ – right on! – and a big, cozy snuggie because I’m always cold, and a mug that reads ‘Astronaut,’ which they understand I am.”
